Tips for Finding a Job Quickly in 2020

Help! I Need Help for Finding a Job Quickly

There's no denying that things have changed quickly this year. Unfortunately, this hasn't been a year that's had many good changes taking place. One of these changes involved companies have to cut back on employees if not shut down entirely. Considering that, many people are looking to find a job. During this time, it's important to find ways for finding a job quickly that are two things: fast and effective. Fortunately, I've got some tips that help you get a job quickly.

1. Check in With Family and Friends

Hopefully, with everything going on, you're already doing this. The next time you're on a Zoom call with your friends and family (and the tone is right), ask them if they know of any job openings. With so many companies cutting back, now might be the perfect time for your friends or family to hire someone they know rather than a total stranger.

2. Don't Give Up

This might sound a little "self-helpish" but it's a skill you'll need to have while job hunting. Take it from me, you're going to get rejection letters. There will be times where an interview goes great and you don't get job. I'm not saying any of that to discourage you. Instead, I want you to know that these things happen to everyone. I can't even begin to count the amount of rejections or "no responses" I got in my lifetime. Those don't matter. What matters is that you push through and know these rejections aren't personal. Honestly, most hiring managers evaluate candidates in a matter of moments. Think about it. They have to. If they have to process hundreds of applications per day or week, there's no time to read over every one of your accomplishments. But, if you're patient, I promise the right opportunity will come to you.

3. Follow Up ASAP

Let's start this next list entry off with a scenario. Imagine that you're texting somone important. Naturally, you would like to receive a reponse from them as soon as possible. However, this person doesn't respond hardly ever. What would you think? That they might not care to talk to you. So, you start texting someone else and get those quick responses you're after. Well this same situation kind of applies in the job hunting world. If an employer or recruiter needs to contact you, please don't make them wait. This might be the one things that helps with finding a job quickly.

4. Make Sending Applications Your New Full-Time Job

If you want a full-time job, you'll need to give finding one everything you've got. This won't be impossible, but sometimes feeling like it is can help push you that extra mile. How do I deal with fatigue while job hunting? I turn it into a game. To do this, set a reachable but difficult goal of many jobs you can apply to in a day. This doesn't mean spamming every job offer with the same application. How much time per day will it take you to read about a job listing and prepare an excellent application for it?

Thanks for reading these four tips to help you find a job quickly. By applying these tips, you should soon start having lots of success. I wish you the best of luck!
